Well, I've never been one for words and never could really see myself getting into the blogging thing, but I think I may give it another stab. I know Mike tried to get me to last year ;-)
Anyway, today Jace spilled his SnoKaps (snow-cone) down three shelves in the freezer and into the bottom drawer filled with Otter Pops. Very sad, he had just spilled the thing he so badly wanted to preserve, he came to me and told me what happened. I reminded him that we can always buy a new snow-cone and that it wasn't a big deal. He was a little upset with the huge mess. I, honestly, confirmed that it was a big mess and that it wouldn't be easy to clean up, but that I would do it. I, also, asked him to please come to me in the future when he needed help saving his snow-cone.
Anyway, as I was cleaning up the mess I thought how much this is like the Savior when we have made a mess of things. We are able to come to Him and ask for His help. Sometimes the mess is way bigger than we could ever clean up on our own; however, He lovingly reassures us we need not worry. Yes, the mess will be tough to clean up, but He would love to do it for us. He doesn't want us to feel bad-just to ask for His help. Additionally, He wants us to continue to turn to Him, so that we may, with His grace, prevent as many possible large messes.
I love the little lessons I am taught on a daily basis from the simplest things. I am so grateful for the mercy made available through the atonement and a loving Heavenly Father! :)
